Date: Tuesday, October 19, 2021 Time: 3 PM Sorkin-Johnston formalism for QFT in curved spacetime (Lecture 1) Abhishek Mathur Raman Research Institute. 19-10-21 Abstract In these lectures, I will discuss the Sorkin-Johnston formalism for QFT in curved spacetime. It is an observer independent way of picking up a QFT vacuum uniquely in arbitrary bounded globally hyperbolic spacetime starting from the retarded Green's function. I will start with discussing the formalism in the first lecture followed by our results of the Sorkin-Johnston vacuum in 2d causal diamond and cosmological spacetimes in the subsequent lectures. I will end the lectures with a discussion and our results on the spacetime formulation of entanglement entropy by Sorkin.
