Degenerations of parabolic moduli space

Abstract

In this talk, I will outline an approach to construct "nice" degenerations of the Mehta-Seshadri moduli space of parabolic bundles on $X$ when the smooth curve $X$ degenerates to an irreducible nodal curve $X_0$. As a preliminary step, we describe the degeneration using parabolic torsion-free sheaves which is known from earlier papers. The final aim is to construct a degeneration along the lines of Gieseker-Nagaraj-Seshadri which enables the limiting space to have good singularities when parabolic-semistability = parabolic stability.
