Abstract

In this seminar, we will present a proof of Macauly’s duality and derive some of its consequences. First we will compute injective envelope of a field as module over power series ring in the form of inverse system. Then using Matlis duality we will derive some general results. Further we will prove the Macaulay correspondence and use the inverse system to construct a class of Artin Gorenstein local rings. We will also see some computations of inverse system using Macaulay 2. Finally we will see some more results in this direction.
