Abstract

I will give an introduction to Hilbert schemes of points on surfaces, which form an important class of moduli spaces of sheaves on surfaces, with many interesting ties to representation theory and combinatorics. The main properties we will be interested in are automorphisms and deformations, and I will explain how derived categories and fully faithful functors can be used to study the latter. This surveys joint work with Lie Fu, Andreas Krug, Georg Oberdieck, Theo Raedschelders, and Jorgen Rennemo.
