Abstract

We will define the notion of anti-affine groups, and give a criterion for the Jacobian of a nodal curve to be anti-affine. In the case of nodal curve \(X\) with one node we will show that there are only finitely many possibilities for the Jacobian \( \J(X)\)to not be anti-affine. Furthermore, in case the normalization of the nodal curve is a general curve of genus \(g\geq 4\) then \(\J(X)\) is always anti-affine.
