Abstract

In this talk I will construct an example in characteristic two of a class of varieties with trivial canonical class but which are neither Calabi-Yau, nor irreducible symplectic nor Abelian varieties, thereby showing that Beauville-Bogomolov decomposition theorem over the complex numbers does not extend as such over to fields of positive characteristic. I will also discuss along the way a few more results about varieties over the complex numbers which fail in positive characteristic.
