11.50 am, Lecture Hall 803 Kinks With Power Law Tails Avinash Khare University of Pune. 19-02-20 Abstract After briefly reviewing the properties of the well known kink solutions all of which have exponential tail, I will discuss in some detail the various aspects of the recently studied kink solutions with power law tail. In particular, I will show that unlike the kinks with the exponential tail, for the kinks with the power law tail, there is no gap between the zero mode and the beginning of the continuum in the Schrodinger-like stability equation. Further, in contrast to the kinks with the exponential tail, for kinks with the power law tail, the kink-kink force has power law fall off. I will also construct models with different possible kink tails. Finally, I will briefly discuss models where kink tails have super-exponential as well as power tower type of form.
