Ramadas Chennai Mathematical Institute. 02-05-19 Abstract The configuration space of identical particles in general has a non-trivial topology. Taking that in to account while quantization leads to different particle statistics. The Hilbert space of identical particles is not a tensor product space of single particle Hilbert spaces, which leads to complications in the usual definition of entanglement. We study some of these aspects in the concrete example of identical particles in a one-dimensional box.
