On the irrationality of zeta at odd positive integers

T. Rivoal has proved that the dimension of the $\Q$ vector space generated by the numbers $zeta(3),zeta(5),...zeta(a)$, where a is an odd positive integer, is at least 1/3 log a. In our talk, we will sketch the proof of the above theorem, starting from Nikishin' s method, and the modification introduced by Rivoal to get the above theorem. We will outline the steps of the proof and if time permits, prove some of the steps in detail.
