Abstract

Art is almost always seen as a creator of beauty, conditioned by culture, environment and history. But if are to understand Art as a medium that enables and facilitates introspection, questioning, creativity and sharing then its canvas expands. Democracy is intrinsically an ideated structure that attempts to ensure equality, equity, an open, free, questioning society where dissent encouraged and access is for all. We must then explore how these two seemingly disparate abstract ideas come together. Where do they overlap and how do they change us.
