Abstract

Using the prototypical model to demonstrate quantum phase transitions - Transverse Ising Model, we shall delve into the non-equilibrium dynamics generated as a result of sudden change to the Hamiltonian, called sudden quench. A semi-classical theory of quasi-particles generated shall be used to understand the evolution of various quantities after a sudden quench. Some recent results on this topic will be presented.
