Abstract

The theory of exponential sums is an interesting topic in number theory. In particular the study of "short" sums remains one of the most mysterious things. In this talk, we will discuss a result of Bourgain, Glibichuk and Konyagin which concerns exponential sums over "small" subgroups of $\mathbb{F^*}_p$ and briefly discuss the method of the proof.
