Abstract

The exact renormalization group is a way to formulate quantum field theory in terms of a Wilson action with a UV cutoff. Taking the cutoff to zero, we obtain the effective action. Wilson actions are often invoked to appeal to our intuituion, but not well defined. Here I would like to show you how to construct them in terms of a well defined functional differential equation.
