Data Science Seminar Date: Friday, 26 September 2025 Time: 2:00 p.m. Venue: NKN Hall Math and Technology: Game Changers for Supply Chain Sarang Jagdale and Amit Hooda Lyric. 26-09-25 Abstract
Abstract: In an increasingly interconnected and complex global economy, the symbiotic relationship between Mathematics and Technology has emerged as a formidable force, acting as true Game Changers for Supply Chain Decision Intelligence. The optimization and resilience of supply chains are no longer aspirational goals but critical necessities, and it is through the sophisticated application of quantitative methods and cutting-edge technological advancements that these objectives can be achieved. We will talk about how exact optimization, meta-heuristics, simulation, graph theory, machine learning, deep learning are complemented with new programming techniques, computing frameworks and computing technologies that are unlocking what was never seen before. Accessibility of these coupled with LLMs is accelerating the build of large scale solutions, which is opening up possibilities beyond imagination. About the speakers: Dr. Amit Hooda heads the Network & Transportation Decision Product at Lyric. He has 15+ years industry experience in building and implementing Operations Research Solutions across various industries including Semiconductor Manufacturing, Power Planning, Commodities Trading, Environmental Modeling, Media Optimization, Retail, Transportation Planning and Route Optimization. Amit spent close to 10 years at Amazon building end to end transport optimization products. He’s deeply passionate about math and how use of it in supply chain decision intelligence. Dr. Sarang Jagdale is the head of Decision Products at Lyric. He has more than 2 decades of experience in the space of decision intelligence, Sarang leads all algorithms at Lyric. He has worked across Manufacturing, Automotive, Transportation & Logistics, Consumer Products, Retail, Hi-tech industries developing large scale enterprise solutions. His interests lie in making decision products scalable and usable to help planners and decision makers.
