Chow Lefschetz theorem for smooth hypersurfaces in projective spaces

Abstract

In this talk we will discuss the classical Lefschetz theorem for smooth hypersurfaces in projective spaces. The cohomological version has led to a conjectural Chow analogue due to Nori and others. This has been verified in some examples. We pose a homological Chow analogue, and provide some examples in support of it. This is a joint work with K. Banerjee and J. Lewis.
