Abstract

Choiceless mathematics is a currently burgeoning area of set theory, and promises to open up hitherto unexpected dialogues with areas of mainstream mathematics. This talk, designed specifically for a CMI undergraduate audience, will take the attendees on a tour of the "smaller" violations of the axiom of choice, and attempt to draw parallels and connections with topics of interest to non-logicians.
