Lecture plan

Day 1: Introduction to quantum states as
density matrices. Purifications, Uhlmann's theorem, Quantum
Channels, properties and equivalent characterisations,
famous examples.

Day 2: Introduction to compression, precise
statement, one shot achievability and converse in the
quantum and classical setting, introduction to one shot
entropic quantities and some comments on relation with
Shannon entropy, introduction to hypothesis testing and
channel coding.

Day 3: Classical and Quantum Rejection
Sampling, More hypothesis testing and channel coding.

Day 4: One shot entropic quantities, the
convergence of one-shot quantities to Shannon via
Nussbaum-Szkola, converse bounds for channel coding.
