Lectures by Professor Ngô Bảo Châu

Professor Ngô Bảo Châu of University of Chicago will visit CMI during December 11-16, 2025. During this visit, he will give two lectures at CMI. Both lectures will take place at the Seminar Hall, CMI.

Lecture 1: Friday, December 12, 2025, 3:30 p.m.

Title: On generalized Hitchin fibration and orbital integrals.

Abstract: The original Hitchin fibration is a formidable geometric tool to study orbital integrals in Lie algebras, in particular to prove the Langlands-Shelstad fundamental lemma for Lie algebras. In this lecture, I present generalized Hitchin fibrations to study other type of orbital integrals.

Lecture 2: Monday, December 15, 2025, 3:30 p.m.

Title: On stable Bernstein centers and cocenters in relation to Langlands functoriality.

Abstract: We examine Langlands's functoriality and stable transfer from a new point of view via the stable center and cocenter. (joint work with Zhilin Luo)
