Abstract

The last two talks in this series will be on the Atiyah-Singer Index theorem. I will dwell briefly on the concepts needed to formulate the theorem and go on to indicate braoadly the idea of the original proof Atiyah and Singer as also the approach via the Heat Equation.The talks of 90 minute duration each) will be given on Tuesdays March 6 and March 13 at 3:30 PM.
