Abstract

Construction of prior for unknown parameter(s) is always an interesting and challenging task of any investigator who has Bayesian thinking (Gelman, 2012) and intends to follow Bayesian inference. This talk aims to consolidate the notion of prior from its historical perspective to the present day consideration in many scientific applications. A mechanism to handle prior as a tool for calibrating a sensible sensitivity analysis in selected statistical models will be discussed.
