Quantum Mechanics 2 (QM2 Autumn 2011) Course Webpage

Instructor: Govind S. Krishnaswami

This is the second in a 3 course sequence in quantum mechanics for undergraduates. It is a core course for 3rd semester BSc physics students

QM1 is a pre-requisite for this course

The course will meet from 9:10 to 10:25 am on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays in the seminar hall at CMI.

Some text/reference books are listed here.

Roughly, the course will cover angular momentum, spin, charged particles in electric and magnetic fields, identical paticles, stationary perturbation theory, variational approximations, density matrices for pure and mixed ensembles, time reversal, semi-classical (WKB) approximations, time-dependent perturbative approximations and scattering in three dimensions.
