Laboratory I

Prof.V Rao was the instructor for the Laboratory I course. The course was divided into 2 parts. The first part dealt with statistical analysis of error in physical experiments. In the second part, we have to perform experiments ourselves and submit the lab reports. The evaluation was on the basis of three sections.

1.Lab reports
2.MCQ examiantion
3.Hands-on experiment in the end-semester

The course was excellent and I as well as my batch-mates thoroughly enjoyed the course. The lab reports done by me follows:

  1. Determination of Young's Modulus of the material of a spring
  2. Measuring Moment of Inertia usinga torsional pendulum
  3. RC cuircuit using oscilloscope
  4. Measurement of refractive index of prism using spectrometer
  5. Determination of unknown resistance using Carey-Foster's bridge
  6. Observation of diode characteristics
  7. Observation of zener diode characteristics
  8. Measurements using optical bread-board
