I summarize recent papers that apply statistical learning methods in economics to describe how the objectives of economic research can be better achieved by the application of statistical tools. Short Bio: Dr Megha Patnaik is an Assistant Professor at the Department of Economics & Finance, LUISS University and a research affiliate at CEPR, Italy. Her research interests include management practices, small businesses, and family ownership of firms. She received her PhD in Economics from Stanford University in 2017.
