Abstract

The aim of this talk is to give an overview of the three main methods used to deal with well-posedness of the nonlinear Schodinger equation: Strichartz estimates, Bourgain spaces and space-time resonances. I will focus of this third method, developped by Germain, Masmoudi and Shatah (Courant Institute), which is the only one able to give global existence results. A physical interpretation of these phenomena will also be given.
