KRS Bases for rings of invariants and endomorphisms of irreducible modules

Abstract

Using the combinatorial characterizations of the Kazhdan-Lusztig cells of the symmetric group, we shall construct 'KRS bases' for certain quotients by two-sided ideals of the group ring and the Hecke algebra. Applications to the invariant theory of the general linear group and representation theory of the symmetric group shall also be discussed briefly.
