Music of the Spheres 
CMI's new auditorium, inaugurated in October 2015, has provided CMI a new opportunity to engage with art. The Institute commissioned the acclaimed artist Parvathi Nayar to install an artwork in the foyer of the auditorium. The outcome is a stunning sequence of panels, 30 feet long, entitled Music of the Spheres. In the words of the artist, "This artwork links the magic and mathematics of our universe with the harmonies we compose on earth." The artwork will be unveiled on Thursday, 25 August, 2016 at 5:30 pm by noted arts editor, photographer and journalist Sadanand Menon, Managing Trustee of Spaces, Chennai.
